Start on your plate

A colorful plate is the simplest immunity plan. Citrus fruits, amla, tomatoes and leafy greens supply vitamin C; nuts and seeds bring zinc and vitamin E; curd and other fermented foods feed the healthy gut bacteria that train your immune system.

Aim for variety over quantity — different colors of fruit and vegetables supply different protective compounds.

Sleep is your repair cycle

Most immune "maintenance" happens while you sleep. Adults consistently getting less than 6 hours are far more likely to catch infections. Keep a fixed sleep window and avoid screens for the last 30 minutes of the day.

Move a little, daily

A brisk 30-minute walk improves circulation of immune cells more reliably than an occasional intense workout. Yoga and breathing exercises also lower stress hormones that suppress immunity.

Supplement sensibly

If your diet falls short, a daily multivitamin, vitamin D3 (especially if you get little sun) or classical ayurvedic preparations like chyawanprash can help fill the gaps. Supplements support a good routine — they never replace one.
